The team at St Wilfrid's Centre wanted a new website to fully represent their work, and to tie in with the opening of their new residential project.

The old website had been created about 5 years ago, using bespoke software. The look and feel of the site was outdated and clunky and it was hard to navigate both for the end user and for the person trying to upload and manage any new content. The content was confusing, poorly presented and did not accurately reflect the width and breadth of the work that the charity does, nor where there any clear calls to action. Furthermore, the site was not mobile responsive, nor was it connected to the relevant social media or donation channels.

Before creating the new website we were very excited as we all had a clear vision as to what we wanted a new website to look like but unsure if it could be achieved within the budget and short time frame. Personally, as the manager of the project I was slightly apprehensive as having briefed and manged a number of websites, I was only too well aware of the challenges of getting content and sign off from colleagues and how internal processes can massively delay the development of a new website.

Now we have our new website we’re in love! We have had such positive feedback about the new website from staff, clients and volunteers alike. It clearly presents what we do, is easy to navigate and is visually engaging. As a charity moving into a new era, we feel that it accurately reflects the work, tone and character of what we do and that it will be ‘fit for purpose’ for a few years to come. The calls to actions: volunteer, donate, get involved are all very clear and simple and we even had two online donations within a few hours of launching!

We especially like the ease of navigation and the visuals. Having worked on various word press websites, Squarespace is far more intuitive to use ‘behind the scenes’, to add and manage pages and content without living in fear that I might delete some critical code.

Working with Katy was a breeze. She was professional yet, very friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. She listened clearly as to what we wanted, delivered on this and paid attention to detail. Her response times were fantastic and I can genuinely say that I think that together completing a website from design to delivery in around 5 weeks and on budget, speak volumes as to how well we all worked together as a team to produce a website that St Wilfrid’s is very proud of. St Wilfrid’s would highly recommend Katy if you want a simple, easy to use, visually attractive, modern website that has the functionality to helps an organisation delivering online what it wants to achieve. We are already looking forward to incorporating e-commerce onto the site in the future! A big thank you to Katy from everyone here at St Wilfrid’s.
